Dorothy "Mama Dot" Marie Bauman Craft, a resident of Gallatin, Tennessee, died at the age of 85 of a heart attack on February 9, 2010, in Naples, Florida. Dorothy was born April 30, 1924 in Louisville, Kentucky, daughter of the late Rudolph Bauman and Mabel Clara Stevens Bauman. She married James H. "Big Jim" Craft on May 19, 1942 in San Antonio, Texas who preceded her in death. She is survived by three children; James "Jimmy" Craft and his wife Pam, Barbara Jones and her husband Randy and Billy Craft and his wife Beverly; two grandchildren, Thunder Jones and wife Emily, and Sky Jones Neusbickel and her husband Parker, and one great-granddaughter, Mya Marie Jones. She is also survived by her brother Rudolph "Jake" Bauman III, several step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren as well as other family members and a host of friends.
Dorothy worked along side Big Jim to manage restaurants while raising their three children. She loved to explore the world through travel and to express creativity through knitting, weaving, painting and sewing clothing. She was a great mother and a special and unique lady who will be missed by all who knew her.
Graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on February 27, 2010 at Sumner Memorial Gardens where she will be buried beside her husband.
