Mary Julia Young age 89 of Gallatin formally of Indianola and Des Moines, Iowa passed away Tuesday July 6, 2010. Funeral service will be Friday July 9th at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Ken Shaw officiating. Interment will be in I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Indianola, Iowa. Visitation will be Thursday July 8th 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Mrs. Young was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on April 19, 1921 daughter of Martin and Gertrude Dinehart Nelson. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Robert S. Young, daughter Helen Mae Tolbert and brothers Marshall and Chauncy Nelson and step-son Vernon Young. She retired in 1983 from Greyhound Bus Lines after 30 years of service as a Ticket Agent. She is survived by son Harland Rynning of Des Moines, Iowa, daughter Gwen Kurth and husband Galen of Gallatin, TN, three brothers, Harold Nelson of South Dakota, Doran Nelson and wife Loraine, of New York, and Roy Severson of North Dakota, three sisters, Elizabeth Clarke and husband Roy of South Dakota, Minnie Hein of South Dakota and Mabel Helgeson of North Dakota, two stepsons, John Young, Joe Young and wife Ellen and 19 grandchildren.
