Charles “Chuck” Smith age 90 of Gallatin passed away Friday July 9, 2010. A Memorial Mass will be conducted Friday July 16th at 1:00 p.m. from St. John Vianney Catholic Church with Father Stephen Gideon as celebrant. Mr. Smith was born in Chicago, Illinois, February 4, 1920 son of Charles E. and Elsie Allen Smith. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his son Chad Smith and sister Marie Utter. He is survived by his wife Nora Lee Smith of Gallatin, son Damon G. Smith of Brooklyn, N.Y., daughter Chrysa DaCosta (John) of Topsfield, MA., sister Dorothy Davey (Andrew) of Indianapolis, IN, two grandchildren, Eric and Evan DaCosta of Topsfield, MA. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the St. John Vianney Catholic Church building fund,449 North Water Avenue, Gallatin, TN 37066 or the Alzheimer’s Association 4205 Hillsboro Pike, Suite 216 Nashville, TN 37215.
